Treatments
Treatments for pain syndromes include pain medicines, muscle relaxants, physical therapy, and therapeutic nerve blocks. Usually a combination of treatments is necessary for optimal effect. Therapies such as chiropractic and acupuncture are frequently utilized. Often referrals are made to psychologists, neurologists, or surgeons when there are complicating issues. For patients with intractable pain, we can implant spinal stimulators or spinal pumps.
We will guide your primary care physician in the selection and dosing of pain medicines, or the addition of antidepressants, muscle relaxants, or anticonvulsants to help treat severe pain.
